Identify the material and preservation system
Natural latex concentrate is supplied in different preservation systems, including high-, medium- and low-ammonia descriptions. These labels should be linked to a current product specification. They do not by themselves establish the full preservative composition, suitability for a process or the classification of the shipped material.
Clarify dry rubber content and total solids
Dry rubber content and total solids are separate measurements. A procurement brief should state which is required and the acceptable range for the chosen grade. Ask for the test methods and a representative certificate of analysis. Depending on the application, the technical review may also include alkalinity, viscosity, mechanical stability, coagulum and other agreed quality parameters.
Do not assume low ammonia means unrestricted use
Ask for the complete preservation system and the safety data sheet for the actual product. The receiving factory should assess compatibility with its storage, compounding and production process. A raw latex description does not establish that a finished article is suitable for medical, food-contact or other regulated use; such suitability requires its own product-specific assessment.
Define the trial and transport requirements
Specify the sample quantity, container, identification and supporting documents. Record the receiving and testing conditions so results can be discussed meaningfully. For the shipment, confirm the packaging format, handling instructions, shelf life and any temperature or agitation requirements stated by the manufacturer. These arrangements must fit the receiving equipment and planned route.
Describe the coordination task
Include the application, required grade, estimated quantity, destination and technical contact within the buying organisation. Support can be scoped around document collection, sample arrangements and communication with the selected supplier. The buyer’s technical approval, inspection requirements and release authority should be recorded separately from routine progress reporting.
Discuss the required support
Share the product or project brief, destination and the activities you would like to coordinate.
